What is Akcie?

Akcie is the Czech word for stock or share — a unit of ownership in a publicly listed company. When you buy an akcie, you become a shareholder and own a small percentage of that company.

Companies issue shares to raise money. You buy those shares on a stock exchange. If the company grows, your shares become more valuable. If it struggles, they lose value. Shareholders may also receive dividends — a share of the company's profits paid out periodically.

Akcie (stocks) represent ownership — you share in profits and losses. Obligace (bonds) are loans you give to a company or government in exchange for interest payments. Stocks are higher risk, higher potential return. Bonds are more stable but typically lower yielding.
